Weekly interview: BassBears

28 Sep 2021

NBO: Hi guys, hope is all good, let’s start with the questions of this week.
When you started making music? And what or who inspired you to start making music?

BassBears: hey! Thanks for having us 🙂
We started as a DJ duo back in 2015 but our love for electronic music comes from a long time ago. Honestly, I think (Javi) hearing Greyhound by SHM was the moment when I decided I wanted to know how can be that done hahahaha nevertheless, after almost 8 years producing I still don’t know how they can be that good 😢

NBO: How you met each other?

BassBears: We have a common friend that knew we were both djing in our homes so he insisted that we had to met each other and make a group hahaha after some days we said yes, thought of BassBears as a name and the rest is history hahaha

NBO: Do you have any upcoming song that you can text us about it?

BassBears: honestly, we have some sick tunes coming next months! A few ones with New Beat Order, some solos and crazy collabs for this year and 2022!

NBO: Which artist or song would you like to remix (official remix)

BassBears: mmmm probably Lifetime by SHM to make it sound like the style we’re working for 2022 🙄

NBO: Which song you consider the best from yours?

BassBears: honestly, we don’t like too much to hear our own music hahaha it’s like we always feel there’s some issue or something. Our fav is not released yet but from the ones released we think Brake Off is the one to go. Heavy and powerful drop and closer to the sound we’re looking for next year 🙂

NBO: What tips would you give to people who want to start making music?

BassBears: don’t hesitate to sound like Skrillex on your first year, learn everything you can, every video you see on YouTube will help you at the end so just have patience, produce every day or every week and one day, you’ll know what’s your sound and how to “boom” with it 🙂

NBO: It looks that the festivals are coming back soon to Spain. Do you have any spanish club in mind to start again playing live?

BassBears: honestly in our city electronic music is not the main thing but with the club we have right now, Marmarela would be the one to go!

NBO: Do you have any dream collaborations?

BassBears: apart from SHM hahahahaha we would love to collab with producers like Yuma, EFFEMAR, Somma…

NBO: Which is the plugin that Bassbears uses the most?

BassBears: production wise Serum and mixing wise I think Pro Q-3 🙂

NBO: Which artists do you consider the will blow up next year?

BassBears: honestly, there’s a lot of crazy good artist out there. It’s difficult to be recognised in this massive industry but hopefully people like CRÜPO, VLLN, Setou & Senyo, Tyson Bay, B Martin, BENLON, Zepidix…and a lot more have the recognition they deserve!

NBO: What Bassbears likes to do in the free time?

BassBears: honestly, we don’t have too much free time, when we’re not producing we’re studying, working, partying or training so our few hours we have we try to escape from reality in YouTube or instagram hahaha

NBO: And last question, 2020 was not the best year for most of the people cause of the quarentines, but you grew up a lot beetween 2020 and 2021. What you did to make this happened?

BassBears: thanks to people. We met crazy talented producers that helped us in our career, not with numbers but with more ways to see music, production, workflow, etc. Also, we finally feel we’re in the right place with this house commercial sound, we are going deeper next year but everything inside the same style we love so, in conclusion, I think finding our sound it’s what has helped us the most!
